Reflecting with Roy the Zebra

Roy the Zebra, https://roythezebra.com/index.html, is a site packed with interactive games, stories and resources developed to help emerging readers learn to read. The site offers free reading games ideal for interactive whiteboards, online guided reading stories and teaching resources with lesson plans.
The interactive reading games focus on word level and sentence level games, such as alphabetical order, consonant blends, and sentence structure games. The best part about these interactive reading games is that there is a lesson plan that can be incorporated for every game.
The guided reading story is an original created by the site; Tale of a Singing Zebra. It is a delightful nine part guided reading story about following your dreams, making friends and seeking adventure. A great addition is that this story may be used with an interactive whiteboard. The story comes complete with guided reading discussion sheets that can be used to discuss the story before and after reading each part. In addition, there are also printable literacy worksheets focusing on specific learning objectives, such as capital letters, full stops and words that rhyme.

Stop by Roy the Zebra, https://roythezebra.com/index.html, and join him and his fun character friends to provide you and your emergent readers with interactive games, stories and resources.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
I have to admit that these website reviews are leading me to finding and exploring some really great sites. I honestly would never have found these sites if I weren't tasked to do so. The assignments in this course have given me an appreciation to the many resources that are out there- free, user friendly and readily available

  2. I also agree with you that if we were not tasked to do these reviews we would not have found all these great websites. Glad I took the class.
