The Literacy Shed

The 5th effective literacy website I chose was The Literacy Shed.

The Literacy Shed (http://www.literacyshed.com/) is exceptional for elementary students. The website has many ideas and visual assets for literacy education. It is created and run by a primary school teacher that has gained these resources from searching the internet for over ten years. The site has a simple layout with each “shed” sorted into different thematic units. It is also very easy to navigate through. This proves to be an effective literacy website because it greatly promotes reading, writing, listening, and discussion through the use of technology. The young school-aged students will enjoy the fun and creative learning experience and carry a positive outlook on literacy.

  1. We explored the same website! It is a great source for my fine arts department when implementing literacy projects in the class.
