The Children's Book Review

            The Childrens Book Review
The Children’s Book Review (www.thechildrensbookreview.com) is an online resource dedicated to children’s literacy.  The site features book reviews and recommended reading lists of children’s literature for kids of all ages.  The site also publishes author and illustrator interviews, as well as literacy-based articles that help families and educators to help readers. Website contributors include authors, editors, media professionals, and even parents.
The site is very user-friendly and neatly organized.  You can browse book reviews by a reader’s age or alphabetically by category.  You can also read interviews by authors and illustrators.  There is another section showcasing authors and illustrators and their works.  The site also includes an author directory and a “giveaway” section of featured books.  You can add this site to your list of favorite blogs, or share it via social networking sites such as Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter.
This site is great for anyone looking for fiction and non-fiction literature for children and young adults.  All reviews are submitted by publishers, authors, illustrators, and publicists.  Before they are posted, submissions are evaluated based on literary value, illustrative quality, and over-all presentations.  The book reviews and book lists are kept positive in an effort to evaluate books with the strongest potential influence on the reader.  Knowing this, parents and educators are assured useful information of the highest quality.

All in all, this site does a fantastic job of encouraging literacy.  Parents and educators can painlessly browse hundreds of titles and read short descriptions of each one, before going to the library or bookstore.  This site can help them to find just what they are looking for.  It also does a great job of promoting and encouraging reading and writing through the author interviews and showcases.  Readers can learn about the author of a book and potentially make a personal connection, which can help to make their reading experience more enjoyable.

  1. What I really like is the book reviews. It is a great way to find out if a book is worth reading before buying it. Thanks for sharing.
