Since the 23rd of December, the day we started
this course, I already felt anxious.
Learning how to create an account on Moodle, reading over our course
syllabus, viewing the calendar, on top of our Christmas break just beginning, I
was already overwhelmed.
I took the course because of the fact that it was a fully
online course, which meant that I could complete my assignments without
actually having to leave home, and from anywhere I was at. I didn’t realize the
amount of information I would learn from this course.
My colleagues have been an inspiration from the start. I saw Moodle blog posts from everyone, then,
realized we also had to blog on the ED638 course blog. Soon the assignments just seemed to pile a
mile high! But my colleagues, they kept
their blogs and comments coming, they posted completed assignments and I soon
realized I could do this. I’m not as
fast and up-to-date as many of them, but I did learn to get things done.
The exploration of Internet Tools, Effective Literacy Sites,
blogs, reviews and comments have all been fantastic! I honestly never knew I would have learned so
much, and it’s only Mid-Term! Part of me
being overwhelmed is the fact that I love the “idea” of being “tech-savvy”, but
I am really not all that “tech-savvy”. Most of it has to do with fear that I
will “break” or do something that should have been done.
Well, it’s half way over and I am looking forward to
learning more about this next project, the Geo-Narrative Lesson designing. I have never used Google Earth in any lesson
and I am excited to learn how to incorporate the Internet Tool to enhance
student learning.

stops teaching.” - Unknown.
I really appreciate now that Dr. Rivera did not "water down" her course requirements during this very short semester. Feeling overwhelmed, but moving forward and offering support is a major theme running among us. I am so glad to be taking this course as well.
ReplyDeleteI am not tech-savvy as well but I would like to be. And with this class I think we will be. We have learned so much. So there is no excuse to try these ideas in our own classroom.
