ReadWorks is a non-profit site created to assist teachers by providing lesson plans, researched-based units, and leveled-nonfiction literary passages for FREE! All provided resources are also aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) as well as all 50 State Standards.
ReadWorks allows teachers to easily search for lesson plans by choosing their grade level, unit and strategy skills they would like to focus on. As a teacher registers, they can easily create a profile with their grade level and either their state standards or the CCSS. The site also allows teachers to create their own binder in which they can "collect" only the resources they need. This helps teachers save valuable time. As one searches for reading passages, Lexile scores are also posted for the passages, this allows teachers to choose the best reading passages for their students.
Sites such as this is a valuable tool for any teacher! With everything necessary posted, such as CCSS and Lexile scores, teachers are able to quickly find exactly what they are looking for, therefore, saving more time to actually teach students the necessary skills needed for college.
