Effective Literacy Website #3
For my third effective literacy website, I chose to write about The Internet TESL Journal (http://iteslj.org/) .
The Internet TESL Journal is targeted specifically for teachers of English as a second language, but can easily benefit anyone teaching literacy instruction. The website serves as a free online resource journal of articles published from 1995 to 2010. Teaching ideas, lesson plans, and ideas for fun activities are also available. The website is easy to navigate through since everything is nicely sorted and has many clickable links. Although the site is not very colorful or visually appealing, it is has much to offer and will make your visit worthwhile.
The Internet TESL Journal is an effective literacy website because it promotes and positively presents ideas for literacy instruction. Since it is geared toward ESL education, many ideas are offered in basic and creative ways that can be modified for use in the regular classroom with any grade level. Another great perk is that all resources are able free of charge and a membership account is not required to access all the features. Overall, the website is a great center for educational research, as well as teacher resources.

Any site that includes lesson plans and activities is a good one to me. I'll check this one out.
