The co-founder Eric Westendorf first started up a website of resources when he was a Principal in Washington, D.C. He wanted to find a way for teachers to be able to teach a standard multiple times without having to "reinvent the wheel" each time. With this in mind, he worked with a few teachers and created screencasts of CCSS lessons. He soon found out that the website not only helped teachers to create a "powerful learning experience", but the site also helped parents and students as well.
As you navigate through the site and get to the appropriate content for you class, you will see the available resources. These resources come with the standard(s) listed so you don't have to figure out what standard to use it for. The following example is of a 5th grade Reading Literature (RL) resource.
Each resource is also followed by available downloads or printables you may need (if any). The above poem, "A Patch of Old Snow" is followed by Read-aloud video, an Anchor Text and a Printable assessment.
There are a vast amount of resources on the site that is sure to enhance student learning. I am sure all teachers and students will be able to benefit from the available resources. As teachers become more familiar with the site, it is without a doubt that they will find just about everything they need and turn to the site time and time again.
