Reflection

I have been able to benefit so much through this course.  The contents covered give me ideas about how I would like to incorporate technology in my classroom.  The assisnments required for the course helped me to reflect on what I am learning and how I can use it in my teaching career.  At this point, I reviewed literacy websites and internet tools, and I used a Course Management System.

I reviewed three websites that support literacy, which I found very resourceful.  I examined, http://www.rif.org, http://www.education.com, and http://etc.usf.edu/lit2go/. All websites were beneficial to students and teachers.  The first two websites even benefit families.  I found that all three site are effective in education and learning through the internet.

I also reviewed three internet tools such as RCampus, Wix, and Delicious.  I found that all tools could be used in education.  There were both negative and positive aspects in all tools, but I observed that all three tools are a helpful and valuable resource. I created my reviews in my technology blog that can be found at http://pegstech.blogspot.com.

Lastly, I created an account in the Course Management System, RCampus.  I found, that RCampus, like other Course Management Systems for teachers, manage records and course work.  However, I find that the eportfolio option in this system is a helpful in creating professional portfolios to share with other educators.

I plan to continue learning about other internet tools, Course Management Systems, and literary websites that could benefit my students.  I realized that online learning has a positive effect on me, and I hope that it will have that same effect on my students.  My only concern is whether students will be able to make a transition from paper-pencil learning to online learning.
