Literacy Center Education Network is one of the most interesting sites I have explored. While exploring the website, I realized that I was not only looking for information and resources as a teacher but also as a parent. With a 1 year old daughter already trying to speak, building her language is very important to me and I believe this website can help as the years go by.
Literacy Center Education Network is a site designed for busy classrooms, computer labs, and at home. The site is mostly geared to Preschool, Kindergarten, and First grade English Language Learners and Dual Language Learners. This website provides teachers and parents with free practice activities they can print for their children as well as online games. With the online games, children can work on their lower and uppercase letters, numbers, colors, shapes, building words, writing, and using the keyboard. Remember, it is all FREE!
This website has definitely taught and reminded me that children learning a new language learn best through playing with language, practicing language through games, and learning language through hands-on activities. I am definitely going to put Literacy Center Education Network on my bookmarks bar and utilize the resources and games in my classroom.
If you have some time, please take a little internet trip to the Literacy Center Education Network website at www.literacycenter.net. Hope you enjoy!
