International Reading Association (IRA) Effective Literacy Website #1

Book Adventure:  Read, Click, Win

http://www.bookadventure.com/Home.aspx

Book Adventure is a wonderful FREE reading program.  It is similar to the Accelerated Reader program with the exception that this one is free of charge.

Children (K-8) are able to get a list of books they would like to read, and then take this list to the library or bookstore.  After the children read the books, they are able to take a comprehension quiz online.  This quiz gives the child points, depending on how the score on the quiz.  The more points they get, the more they can purchase from the store.

It is an excellent way to motivate children to read.

This program is sponsored by Sylvan Learning Center.   Here is a video you can watch:

  1. Oooohhhh! Free! I am going to sign up for this so that I can use it with my struggling readers. I love the quiz option.
