IRA Newsletter Project: Effective Literacy Website #1

SSP is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to inform, educate, and inspire the public about scientific achievements. Science articles, a SSP newsletter, and blog are available with accurate and up-to-date information.  Student Science is a section on the website where students can learn how to conduct scientific research.  On this section, Science Project Resources is available which includes Great Science Projects – A Series where students can learn how to conduct research.  Another section found under Student Science is Student Resources, which gives tips and sites to learn and do science that connects the latest scientific research to classroom learning.  In addition, Science News for Students is a free online publication that is available for teachers, parents, and student ages 9-14.  It is a good resource.

  2. Thanks for sharing this site. My coworker has students to do a weekly "Science News" write-up in which students choose one article and present it to their peers. I found the articles to be very interesting and easy to read.
