Engrade appears to be a tool that will benefit my seventh grade students and their parents who have Internet access.  The Apps section includes Quizzes, Flashcards, Wikis, and Files where I could create and upload information for students to review and refer to important content.  It is user friendly and it provides many examples that teachers can use as references.

Third quarter covers myths, legends, fables and folktales.  I will be creating reference material and quizzes for these genres as supplemental study guides for my students to utilize.

In the Gradebook section there is a calendar where teachers can post assignment due dates and upcoming quizzes for student and parent reference.

I look forward to utilizing this online resource and analyzing the impact it makes on my students.

  1. I think the quiz and flashcard options are great for upper elementary, middle, and high school students. As I move through each of the assignments for this course, I realize more and more how different our students are today. I was a traditional paper, pencil, and textbook learner. Most of today's students are so technologically savvy that we need to keep up with them. We also have a responsibility to expose and instruct our students in the use of technology.

  2. I agree Judi that our students are so tech savvy that I feel so incompetent at times trying to incorporate technology in my lessons. There will even be times when I ask them to help me figure things out. But the kids are always great about it and love the fact that teachers learn new things too.
