CMS Tool: Labrador's Selection

After thorough review of the three CMS Tool, I have selected "Engrade" for two reasons. First, I have first-hand experience in using this tool. Secondly, the communication portion of this tool is very convenient and user-friendly for teachers, parents, and students. Although, I am currently using "PowerSchool," it lacks the proper accessibility (i.e., apps for mobile devices like smartphones and iPads).

The unit I will focus on is perspective drawing. "Engrade" allows the user to import video files, which I will constantly use for online instruction. Students will learn two types of perspectives; one-point and two-point perspective.  I can easily produce a video on perspective drawing or utilize the free tutorials in "Youtube."  This unit is very difficult for beginning art students. But, with the "Engrade" communication tool, I will be able to assist students with questions or problems about the process.

If you are not familiar with perspective drawing, here is a video sample from the publisher, elemICT on "Youtube;"

On the side note, I found this other tool especially useful for one-on-one tutoring in Adobe Photoshop for my Graphic Arts class.  It is called "Join.me." Here is the link to the website: https://join.me/.

This website allows one person to share their computer desktop screen with another and can communicate via "Skype." So, if I were to open my Photoshop software in my computer, the other person can see me do it.  It can also be used to hold meetings, review documents and charts, and open other files. I hope this is useful information for you.

  1. Thank you for telling us more about the Join Me website. That is a really great tool that can be useful when teaching new programs or when introducing new software.
