CMS Tool: Engrade

The CMS I chose to use was Engrade.  I like how easy it is to navigate.  It is very simple to use.  With all the demands placed on teachers, any tool that is simple to use will not be very overwhelming.

One can create several different classes with Engrade easily.  I use PowerTeacher to handle my grades.  Issues have arisen from PowerTeacher when transitioning from one quarter to the next when the school changes reading classes.  Engrade seems to allow multiple classes to exist at once.

Engrade also includes apps that can allow teachers to create quizzes, flashcards, and wikis (to create syllabi, homework, and allow collaboration between students).  Teachers can also upload files to share with students.  It monitors assignment turn-ins and keeps students updated with a calendar.

My unit will focus on ecosystems.  Topics may include marine, forest, and desert ecosystems.

  1. I'm excited to see how you incorporate wikis to create your syllabi, homework, etc.
